I have a question , has anyone ever tested the difference in the federal gm210m (gold metal match) primers vs. the federal 210 (standard) primers? Is there any diff. over a cronograph in sd or es? Has anyone compaired overall accuracy diffrence (in any caliber at any range)? The reason for my question is I have always shot the gm210m primers but I recently made a order with R.W. Hart for some stuff and they donot stock the gm210m primers. I asked why and was told that Bob doesnt feel there is any gain in useing the "match" primers, and that he has always used the "standard". I know Bob has had great sucuess in shooting so Im not questining his opnion. I was also told that Bob toured the federal primer plant and the only diff. in the "match" primer and the "standard" primer was a visuial inspection , that the primers all come off the same line. So I ordered 1000 to see my self, I am hopeing to shoot them this weekend and compaire them aginst the gm210m. I was just wanting some more input. Thanks SEMPER FI

Re: federal gm210m vs. federal 210

I've always been hung up on using only Federal Match primers. I have never compared 210 vs 210M back to back but I have 205 vs 205M in my LTR 223. The difference was, drum roll please, ZERO difference.

I still prefer to buy Federal Match primers when I can get them but if standard Federals was all I had I would not think twice about using them and expecting the same results.

I've heard and read, probably just like you, that the only difference in the Federal Match primers is they have more experienced employees doing the Match stuff otherwise everything is the same.

    Hope this helps
