Federal Tactical TRU Ammo, What are the details?

Had a LE Shooter show up the other day with some of the Federal Tactical TRU Ammo for his 308 Bolt Rifle, it was loaded with what they call a 165 BTHP. http://le.atk.com/general/federalproducts/rifle/tacticaltru.aspx

The Bullet looked like no other Sierra BTHP that I had ever seen? It had a very obvious "cross design" to the tip of the bullet.

I have check both the Federal and Sierra websites, as well as the Internet, and I can't find any info on the bullet?

I am trying to do some drop charts for the guy, but I need a good BC number to plug in.

Does anyone have any info that you can share on this?

Thanks,
M Richardson

Well, finally got lucky!

Talked to the right person at Sierra who told me the bullet was actually a 165 Gameking (Sierra #2140).

I have never worked with Gameking Bullets, so I did not recognize it or put it together. I was expecting a Matchking in a LE round like Federal loads the 168 & 175 Gold Medal rounds.

Not 100% sure why they used the Gameking round?

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
M Richardson

Well I geuss someone wanted an expanding bullet. IE big mofo on pcp it only takes 7rounds to bring em down vs. 13? Just a geuss!
