i have a rem 700 that im having trouble getting to feed from my dbm setup. the rounds are loaded with 175 smk's and arent overly long or anything crazy. but for some reason if i throw my loaded mag in the tips of the rounds catch on the bottom of the feed ramp. how do i mod my feed ramp so i can chamber rounds more smoothly? or could this be a problem with my cdi dbm assembly? im lost. thanks all

Re: feed ramp issues

Sounds like you need the feed ramp notched. Use the hide google search for more info and pics.
What mags are you using? I use Alpha type 2 and had to notch my feed ramp to fix the same problem. I dont think the AICS standard mags would let you load long enough to do that, but could be wrong.

Re: feed ramp issues

I just bought an alpha mag (type 2). My standard load is 2.950", so up until now I have been loading single shot. If I have my feedramp modified, will it still feed properly from the factory bottom metal? At some point I want to get a custom action and then I intend to put my r-700 back in the factory configuration and sell it. I won't be able to do so if it won't feed properly.
