Feedback on SB 338 Magnums

I know there are guys on here having good luck with 338 Magnums with Short Barrels for hunting,I have seen 20" mentioned before.

It is the week I need to pick a final bbl length for my build,was going with a 21" so it is 20" in front of the lug.This will be used as a Big Game Hunting Rifle.Any feedback would be appreciated.Thanks

What 338 cal is it?
And what weight bullet are you planning on using?
I have some interest in your results.

338 EDGE w/300gr Berger and see how that does.Possibly 225-250gr,trying to get some input from guys already using this type set up.I already have one w/a 28" bbl that shoots cloverleafs but is way too heavy and bulky to be packing any distance and not very handy for off hand shooting.

Sandrat,
According to quikload, 95.5gr Retumbo will get you 2575fps out of a 20" barrel and be @ 63,785psi. 100 % propellant burn rate. Don't have any personal experience with the EDGE in a 20" barrel, but it is a great caliber.
