I am looking for feedback on a Surefire FA338SS. I will be using it on a .338 Lapua. I am only interested in this specific Surefire can. I would like to know if the POI remains the same between suppressed and non-suppressed. Any experience you have would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

POI shifts are going to vary vastly from rifle to rifle. No one will be able to tell you that your gun will only shift 1/4 MOA, but as long as it is consistent and repeatable then you are ok.

Re: Feedback on Surefire FA338SS Suppressor

I owned a AWC suppressor for a previously owned Sako TRG it was off by a significant margin 6" on the horizontal and 5" high! It was repeatable, but that's not acceptable. I also own a Ops Inc 12th model (.30 cal) and the POI is almost identical between suppressed and non-suppressed.

My other AWC cans have been great.... That one, who knows?.....

I get a fairly repeatable .1 mil shift to 12 o'clock with my 6.5 Lapua... Maybe due to a slight increase in velocity?

I have yet to put it on any of my other barrels.

I run that can on my .308 and there is no POI shift. Don't have a .338 so can't comment on it.

Re: Feedback on Surefire FA338SS Suppressor

Just a heads up for everyone looking to buy a Surefire can. I bought the FA338SS and the FA68K. After a 6 month wait, the stamps finally came in. All I can say is wow! It tames the 338 Lapua canon so you can shoot without hearing protection! That's saying something! POI is negligible.

The 6.8 can works pretty good also. I was using a .30 cal can (Ops Inc) and it also has minimal POI. I have and own many suppressors. I can say, they are the best so far. If you are in the market and have kidney to sell, you can go wrong with these cans!
