Is there any modifications that can be made to the load ramp on the action to allow for a longer oal. My 308 shoots best with the 168's touching the lands at 2.860. I've seated them to 2.840 and the bullet tips still hit the action when feeding. Shoots 1/4" groups at 2.860, .75" at 2.840, and just gets worse the further I go out.

Any competant smith can pop the barreled action out of the stock, chuck it up on a drill press and drill a small "relief" hole in the feed ramp to accomodate a long OAL. My friend and smith...Marc Soulie of Spartan Rifles...(shameless plug for a good guy) did it while I waited. 5 minutes from start to finish he even smoothed the sharp edges on my picatinny rail after he smoothed out the drill marks on the ramp. I'm sure the warranthy has been voided on my Stiller action by doing this, but I can now load to the lands and it feeds GREAT now, where before it would not. My only restriction is now mag length. Good luck.
