Gunsmithing Few questions about applying cerakote

When you pros are applying cerakote do you mask off the action threads on the barrel, or in the action, to keep the cerakote off. Or is the thickness a non issue. Also if spraying a custom 1911 do you mask off the rails or any internal surfaces for the same reason.

Normally the rifle is together, Ive never had very good luck with torquing a barrel back on and having the cerakote not get a little buggered up. On threads for muzzle brakes, they will get a very light coat, hasn't been an issue so far. 1911's rails also get sprayed but very lightly.
