FGMM 308 Win 168gr Meplat

Has anyone else noticed that the meplat on FGMM (at the least 168gr stuff) is smooshed in about 10 thousandths? Measuring cartridge O.A.L. yields approx. 2.800", however, when I use a bullet seater to set a new bullet at the same point on the ogive and depth, the O.A.L. is about 0.01" longer. Do they do this on purpose or it simply from their manufacturing/packaging/shipping?

It's from different lots of bullets. Some will be a few thousandths shorter or longer at the tip, which will cause this difference.
