FGMM brass VS. Winchester brass

Re: FGMM brass VS. Winchester brass

Federal brass sucks. They usually won't last too long with warms loads. But yet, people snatch that crap up like it's gold.

Re: FGMM brass VS. Winchester brass

I've been using non-match FC cases in both my 308 and 6mm Crusader, and frankly if you aren't running a hot load, it works just fine. I've found it no more or no less consistent than Winchester brass once both have been prep'd. The GMM cases may be better though.

If you're running hot loads, use the Winchester brass.

Re: FGMM brass VS. Winchester brass

In FGMM brass, the primer pockets go fast!
I never got many shot out of them!
I dont see why everyone wants this stuff?
My vote is for the Win. brass......never had any prob. with it

Re: FGMM brass VS. Winchester brass

Before coming here, or shooting greater than 400 yards... All I used was Federal Gold Medal brass and 168smk's.

Still got them and have somewhere around 6 firing on them. As the pockets opened they are culled.

So they will work... for awhile. About the time you start thinking about anealing is about the time they are done. For me at least...

Re: FGMM brass VS. Winchester brass

If you're running hotter loads, you will probably get limited life out of the FGMM due to primer pocket expansion. Limit your laods, and your brass life should improve some.
