Does anyone do fiberglass re-coating of McMillan stocks? I know that there must be a way to clear coat a return M40A1 stock. The glass webbing is coming through. Much like a surfboard repair.

If one does not for sure know from what materials a stock (or surfboard) is made of, it is safer to go the epoxy route.
Model aeroplane hobby shops should have epoxy laminating resins and small quantities of thin glass cloth (2-4oz). One can lay up two layers over the worn areas and make smooth after curing via wet sanding and automotive filler.
