Forgive me if this is the wrong section..

Doing some reading I have come across some info about people using final finish to.fire lap factory barrels and wanted to see if anyone here had any feedback on the product.

Also I wanted to find out which bore guide people here suggest.

    Thanks
    Dan

***EDIT the final finish will be used on a Remington 5R that is brand new. I didn't know if it being a 5R barrel mattered when using the final finish.

I had a lucas and it is amazing. Hard to get so I have been getting Possum Hollow bore guides and really like them.

Also, shoot that 5r I dont believe you need to lap it. I had one and it shot amazing. 45 grains of varget and a 168 Berger VLD made small groups. Best thing I did was change the trigger and stock.

Also, you are in Stiller's backyard you should check out there products.

I will take a look at that bore guide.

That load data looks to be for a .308 this is actually a 300 win mag

I have talked to the guys at stiller and in fact plan to be having them do some work here within the next couple days.

Also that GB you have going on their actions looks tempting. I'm just so new to this type of shooting I don't think I have earned the right to go and spend kind of cash yet.

I was right there with you not too long ago. I thought I would never own a full custom gun. I have now bought three stiller actions and working on my fourth in the group buy.

I just cant say no to the new integrated rail action.

They are great guys and you can go to the shop and check out the actions they got.

i use the TMS, im not impressed by it and havn't noticed any significant improvements. But i still use it.</div></div>

The TMS isn't supposed to improve anything except barrel life by keeping the throat area smooth.

I placed an order for a Lucas bore guide yesterday. Emailed Mike with my info. and he promptly responded. Mike said my bore guide will ship in the next batch he runs, currently scheduled for mid March. This is my second Lucas Bore Guide. Mike makes a great product and I don't mind waiting a few weeks to get it.
