47g of 4831SC. Compressed Load... ( i really think SC likes to be compressed )

BR2 Primers

about .012 off the lands

Rem .260 brass and 139g scenars.

Length to the Ogive or whatever its called... 2.312

Chrono 10ft from the Muzzle, which is why the vel were higher today than yesterdays loads... yesterdays vel were at max length of the chrono cords

Shots
1. Error
2. Error
3. Error
4. Error
Finally got the fuckin chrono height right.
5. 2812
6. 2821
7. 2818
8. 2835
9. 2816
10. 2822

ES. 10 if you toss out the 35, but 23 if you leave it in... considering i do not weight my brass, I think this is pretty good for Rem Brass.

( I also shot 10 rounds of 45.5 but the ES was 63 / 64 between the two strings of 5, and the groups werent anything to mention )

Not sure why the 3rd shot is that far up high... i didnt do a lot of dry firing before hand... probably CMS, cold mind syndrome

Re: Final Load Developement., Newman .260

I did some testing several years back with R/S Magnum compressed loads, found I could go to 50gr w/o extreme pressure signs. 142SMK in a 24" 1:8" barrel, very good accuracy, but velocity was no great shakes.

I already have a load for my 28" 1:8" barrel and 142's (43.8gr H4350), so I won't be doing more development just yet, but your results generate some interest with me for exploration at a later date.

Any pressure signs on that, Greg? How fast are those running?

Chad

I ran 43.0 gr of H4350 with a 142 SMK and it went 2750 fps from a 26" Krieger with very low E/S. It was so accurate (first load I tried) I didn't push it any harder. But there were no pressure signs.

My guess would be around 2820 fps

Try the 130 Bergers with H4350 and CCIBR2's, I'm at 2,920fps. When compared to the 139 scenars at 2,875fps they're almost identical.

My last outing to 1k I was 27.7moa/7.7 mils

At the end of the day, we still have to drive them a little. If the 140 Bergers could be driven at 2,900fps in a .260 that'd be a great combo as well. I'm sure you'll end up with a good load/bullet.

Re: Final Load Developement., Newman .260

Pressures signs are present, but reasonable. My Lyin' Bastich Chrony said it was doing around 2800fps just before it went terminally tits-up. Hodgdon lists 44.5gr as Max. 1Kyd drops are a bit more than calculated, but I'm probably using the wrong G-Number model in my Pejsa spreadsheets.
