I bought the complete 16” upper at a gun show and was told I could run it on my DPMS lower. That was not the case and I ordered the complete lower to have a complete P 308. The main thought was I had my first suppressor in ATF jail and I thought this would be a good platform to run suppressed.
Well, it never functioned as built and I called POF to explain it was WAY overgassed. They told me I needed to clean and oil the rifle even though it had not had 20 rounds through it. It would leave the fired case in the upper receiver and jamb the next round behind it. At some point I put an O ring on the extractor spring and it slightly improved function. Also, the bolt carrier would stick to the rear, even without an empty magazine.
It was shipped with a 3 ounce standard carbine buffer. I’ve switched that out for an H and an H2 carbine buffer with no improvement.
Finally, I installed Slash’s XH Carbine buffer and an Armalite rifle spring and holy shit. It functioned in normal and reduced gas settings!
I read a thread yesterday about adjusting bolt over run and after putting .75 cents in the buffer tube behind the spring to adjust the amount past the bolt catch the bolt travels, it no longer sticks to the rear.
I thought about selling it many times but did not want to stick someone else with a problem child. Who knows, maybe someone smarter than me would have already had it running by now!
