Hello, I recently got a 30cal suppressor to use for one of my AR's chambered in 7.62x39. I realize now I need an adjustable gas block for proper functioning and some sound suppression.

Anyone have any idea on what to use for an adjustable gas block for a 7.62x39? I checked with Noveske on their Switchblock and they told me they did not have one to work on the 7.62x39 just the 556 and the 6.8. Wouldn't the 6.8 work?

I did not know that. Thank you for the heads up. I was told differently by the place I got my suppressor at.

Any other ideas or is anyone running a 7.62x39 AR suppressed?

If the barrel isn't too fat you may be able to get the adjustable gas tube
(just make sure & also specify carbine length or rifle length)

That's not accurate. You can by a clamp on model that will work with 5.56 or 6.8, they do not offer one for the AR10. As long as you specify barrel contour, lenght and caliber you can get one that will work.

Besides materials a noveske barrel is like any other AR barrel

Thanks for the information. I really did not trust the JP Adjustable Gas Block but that sounds like my only solutions.

Even if Noveske offers the switchblock for other barrels they stated they did not make one for the 7.62x39 (not to be confused with the 7.62x51) I just thought maybe the 6.8 would have worked.

I will try for the JP.

With the exception that it only has one tapered pin to hold the gas block right? I know you could make one work, but it wouldn't be a "bolt on". You also can't just slap a standard front sight on a Noveske bbl as it'll be too long. You're right about the clamp on model though. I didn't look at those.

I have had issues with JP blocks in the past moving and causing FTF problems because of short stroking.

I intend on using the gun suppressed and non suppressed so I need it to be adjustable on the fly. After thinking about it a set screw probably will not work anyway.
