finally got my dta covert

Looking forward to shooting it. Got a great deal from a great guy at Beartooth guns in Billings MT. rifle setup for 308 with 30moa cant rings and extra mag, 2 total. for no more than I have seen advertised without the rings and extra mag. I never even asked the price, just wrote the check. As always, very happy with his deals and service.

Here it is next to a standard ar-15 and my trusty old 308 with 21" barrel.
Still havn't shoot it yet and waiting on an atlas bipod to for it.
This gun feels great. I'm thinking my old 308 will get a vacation for a while.

How long is the barrel?

Almost forgot, how's the trigger pull?

Barrel is 16" 8 twist for subsonic loads. Shoots 155 lapua great. Just shoot it for the first time today. 100 yard zero on steel then 745. Kinda of a pain with no bipod yet. Shoot the 155s at 2700fps with 46.5grn varget. It shoots FGMM 175 at 2500fps. Used my Oheler 35P to verify.
Weight, 13lb 6oz on my postage scale just now.
Trigger is excellent, some creep. I should be able to adjust that out. Havn't tried yet.
A can, yes it does need one. Probably get that on order fairly soon. Deciding if I want to stick with DTA all around or go with something else. QD for sure.

I had similar results as you with the FGMM 175s (avg MV 2507), but was close to 2800 with factory loaded 155 Scenars (CorBon). What amazed me the most about this rifle (barrel) was not only its accuracy, but that it handled projectiles ranging from the 155 Scenars up to 190 gr SMKs equally well. Very versatile platform.

2506 avg was my accual with FGMM 175.

I loaded the 155s with varget. Never tried for anything, just threw them together to see what happened. Probably will do better after I get the new brass and things.
