Well finally got to shoot a Stevens 300 Win Mag I rebuilt. Only thing that is Stevens is the action it has a Choate super sniper stock, Millet TRS 5 x 25-56mm scope, and an Er Shaw heavy barrel. Went with Shaw because at the time they had the shortest lead time only 3 months but it turned into 9. The wait gave me time to see that I could have spent more and gotten a way better barrel but I have this thing of trying the underdog. Make a long story short I am quite happy with it, it holds sub groups at 100 and should be able to do a 1000 yards and then some hoping to try the mile here next week if the weather doesn't turn to shit again. Will let you know how it does.
