After about two years wait with a number in the mid 15000's, I received my 1911 from CMP. Actually pretty nice. Refurbished at Anniston Army Depot in 1986 it has a Colt slide and a Colt frame.

I really like the looks of that pistol. They did a great job re-furbishing it. Some of the lettering on the slide is a bit mushed out, but overall, I would be REALLY pleased to receive a pistol like that. What grade did you order, and did you have to do anything special (pay lots more money) to get both a Colt frame AND a Colt slide, or are you just really, really lucky?

I'm not sure if it is just the lighting under which you took the photos, but the photos make the finish appear to have a really neat looking greenish tint to it. Is the pistol's finish really a neat greenish tint, or is it just the lighting? I know that some parkerization can have significant differences in color from black to gray to greenish gray. I think a nicely applied parkerized finish like you received does a really good job protecting the pistol, and holding onto oil and lubricant much better than a slick blued finish. Overall, I too would be really thrilled if I received that pistol.

Just luck receiving the Colt slide and frame. It is "Service" grade. The gun is gray and any green tint you see is lighting...it is not the gray/green you occasionally see.

I’m Jealous, I have a random number in the high 17,000’s so I have my fingers crossed I still get one this year. Getting closer every day I guess. I’m hoping they still have service grade available when or if I get the call but at this point with the election and all other chaos I will take what I can get.
