Finally took the plunge on a .308

Well, after much debating, I finally purchased my first long range rifle. I decided to go with the Savage 10FCP-K .308. I picked it up from Buds Guns for $735.00. I received positive feedback about this rifle from several members of this forum. I would like to thank everyone for their help with input and opinions on making my purchase. You guys have simplified several aspects of long range shooting that I was completely confused about prior to joining this site. You guys are great

That's a great rifle, and its hard to argue with the price.

Put some high quality glass on there if you can and tear it up!

I know, I can't wait. I just have to save a little for the glass. Purchasing a scope for my rifle is the real task! There is so much information out there and so many different opinions, its hard to decide. Some say that most all scopes between $1000 and $2000 are pretty much all the same, some say differently. Some have said that $2500 and up is the only way to go. I though I was confused on which rifle to purchase. Looks like that will seem trivial compared to the epic task of purchasing a quality, reliable piece of glass!

Semi-quality cost effective glass will still get you trigger time while the next debate continues. Make some noise and holes in paper until some one put a used Nightforce in the classifieds. Enjoy!
