Findley cup - What to expect?

I'm new to tactical competition... could someone elaborate on what to expect (besides a lot of fun!)from competing in the Findley cup competition? I don't have a shooting partner and I see some of the events require a partner. Some allow laser ranging while others require optical... How will it play out?

The findlay cup is a blast.

Lots of cool barricades, positions, usually has a helo flying around, typically they allow range finders and usually a stage or two is ranging using your reticle.
