I just looked at one I have and it was made in Japan in 1997. Its a 16x42.

Mine is now a spotting scope. My .338 WinMag knocked the Parallax out of it. Still sees good, just very "off" when using the range marks for focusing.

I had the exact same one about 6-8 years ago. Real dog that just wasn't clear at maximum magnification even at 100 yards. Glad to have gotten rid of it. I hope yours is better.

I'd love to have it if it goes up for sale.

There were two versions of that scope, the first one was very high quality and is still very desirable today (this is the one you have). The second version of it was made in a different factory and was a real POS.

I had one of those scopes a few years ago. It was actually a pretty decent piece of glass. I still caught shit for using a tasco though. Or atleast I did until people tried it out.

I think its because its stilling on a S$B box. Maybe "held up by S&B"

I got it, however that scope was contracted to an undisclosed manufacturer, i wish i knew who it was.
