I shot a 500 meter f-class match today. I scored 119/150 with 1 v bull. The winner shot 138 with 4. My groups were tight I just didn't quite have the 15 mph crosswind doped right.

I had a blast, thanks to everyone who pitched in with advice. Now all I have to do is practice, practice, practice.

Edit: Yes it was 500 m range with the match using a 500 yd target. Strange range but close to home so I like it. The pits are also a little funny so you had to shoot a 5 shot relay before it would get scored, so you did not get feedback after every shot. Ater my first 5 I just picked a consistent aiming point and fired the last two 5 shot relays. Groups were nice but the score needs improvement.

Re: First 500 meter match

And you did just fine. If I remember right, your 119 placed you around the middle of the group in scores. That range and it's crazy winds will make you a very humble shooter. No mirage that day until the end so it was difficult to call the wind changes. Thanks for coming out to the shoot and hope I see you again.

It's a fun group. Wide range of skill levels and equipment, but really laid-back.

Come on down!

Prosound... This is the group / range you want to experience. Great folks! From beginners to those folks still chasing that perfect score. I'll be there at the 3 March match if you're in need of a contact person..... If you have any questions, give me a call.

Re: First 500 meter match

Ben - No worries, enjoy the camping trip. It was awesome visiting and shooting with you. You always learn something new. Sometime in mid/end March we can run a practice match to get ready for the match on 31 March. Can you send me a couple pics you took of the target cam setup? Every time I set it up I forget to take pics. Thanks.....
