I am getting ready to build my first tactical 6BR. I would like it set up to be a repeater and the twin to my 6.5x47.

I want to stay with the Surgeon action and bottom metal. From what research I have done though it seems like there may be some feeding problems with this set up. I was told it can be done with Remington bottom metal. Has anyone dealt with these feeding problems? Sugestions/recomendations on this caliber build? Best bottom metal that will work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: First 6BR Tac Build

AICS mags can be altered to feed the 6BR very easily. But you need the type that has the flat follower spring that does NOT extend to the back of the follower. You need to cut off @ 5/16" off the back of the follower and insert a filler piece in the back of the magazine.

Re: First 6BR Tac Build

6BR feeds really well out of a modified 223 AI mag. I've got a couple for mine and it's never had a jam or misfeed. If you want some photos of the mods to do, let me know.

I've posted up this video here before but it gives a pretty good idea how it feeds:

<object width="425" height="350"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uAZ6-X5i-vo"></param> <param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uAZ6-X5i-vo" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"> </embed></object>

It's a great cartridge to shoot, almost no recoil and very accurate. I use the 108 Bergers in a 1/8 twist 22.5" barrel.
