I just picked up my first Microtech. Being a recent Texas transplant from So Cal I’ve never even seen one in person. Being a huge Star Wars fan having seen the original in the theater in 1977 at just 4 years old how could I pass this one up? LOL.

Traded this one and bought a 2020 production, same model. Both sat untouched in my safe and never carried or used either. What a shame

do you guys use them are are they too expensive for use?

I just bought it today but I carried it all day and plan to do so from here on out. It is cool but for me it is a tool. Would I refrain from some tasks with it, yeah probably. I usually have a few other knives within reach for those tasks.

I have been looking for years for an alternative to my normal Benchmade 940-2 edc knife. I have tried all manners of Spyderco's and ZT's and have sold them all. The last one I tried was the Spyderco Smock but sold it after carrying it for a month. Great knife but having the Axis lock just kept the Benchmades in my pocket.

I will say, so far the one thing this does better than any other knife I have had is it is a fidget monster, LOL. I have been playing with it all day, like a teenage boy. My freaking thumb is gonna be sore tomorrow.

Nice. Ever since getting one to give as a Christmas present last year I've been wanting one.

I’ve used a UTX85 as my EDC knife for over two years now. I’m unhappy when I have to trade it out for a manual knife when I travel, OTFs are so convenient you get spoiled. It does need a good cleaning every so often as they don’t tolerate dirt well.

    Fitz,
Nice knife and congratulations! Microtech make beautiful knives. I have had several over the years. I still regret not buying one that was a “stealth” switchblade I saw at a gun show down in Atlanta in the 90’s. It looked and operated like your average high quality folder, but if you pushed on one of the scales, it would auto open. I am surprised more folks don’t make “stealth” models.

Yes, yes I do... lol It is a great little car. I also have a 1979 Jeep Cherokee Chief that I will start working on when I am finally moved into my new house in a few weeks.

    Sick chief though!!!

Thanks, it needs a lot of work but it will be a great gun truck once done. It needs a full interior but I think I am going to leave the paint alone and just clear coat it. Let her rock her patina as It is still the original paint
