After getting the problem fixed from my previous thread i was finally able to make it out to the range for a bit today. First thing, I LOVE this rifle, it's only a .223 but it is so much fun to shoot, and once it was zeroed it was hitting right on target.
I like the feel of this rifle, and the butt pad that comes standard on the rifle is really nice, I never noticed what little recoil a .223 would normally have.
Ok so first some stats.
Savage Model 10 FPSR in .223
Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44
Shoter's Ridge bipod (I know i know not a Harris, but i am new to this and it was within my budget.)
No changes to the rifle <span style="font-style: italic">yet</span>
Ammo Used: Remington "UMC" 55 grain
Hornady "SP Brass Training" 55 grain
Now some pictures, i didnt have too much time at the range so i was only able to get one real 5 shot group off before we had to leave for the day. Range for the shots was 50 yards. I will stretch it further next time i get to go to the range, used 50 yards as a starting point for zeroing then didnt have time to go further out.
The white circled group on the top left was the only 5 shot group i was able to get off outside of zeroing the scope. I didnt have time to measure it or anything, but for it being my first day with this rifle i'm happy enough with these results.
My brother also wanted to try this rifle, his group is on the top right. Both of these groups were shot with the Hornady Ammo after using the Remington to zero in the scope.
Nothing special to show with the rifle, but i snapped a couple pictures when i got home anyway.
Well i think that is it for now, at least until i get it out to 100+ and do another report on the rifle, or start changing things. Whichever comes first!
