First let me explain a bit why I'm asking about my recipe:
I'm a soldier, home on leave from Iraq for 3 more days. I ordered all the equipment I'ld need to reload while I was doing the first 1/2 of my deployment. I read alot on reloading while over there.
I came home on leave, built and set up all my reloading equipment, and got down to buisness.
I wont have the oppertunity to go shoot befor I have to head back to Iraq, so for my own piece of mind, I wanted to make sure my recipe sounded safe and ok. I think it should be...
Rifle being used is a Rem700 .308 with a 26" bull barrel.
Recipe:
Brass: Winchester .308 that had the factory loads fired out.
Full length resized with Lee Dies
Case was trimmed to 2.012
Bullet: Sierra Match King 175gr HPBT
Powder: 44.6 gr VARGET
Primer: CCI Large Rifle
OAL: 2.81 (Varries between 2.808 and 2.812)
Also for a question.... does having lube in the case neck affect anything when the round gets fired? I was not sure, so I washed all my cases after resizing as the lube allowed brass shavings and the lube itself to stick inside the case neck.
Thanks for looking, I dont post much on SH but I read the site several times a day and it has always been a wealth of information.
