I had plans on shooting to 1400yds this weekend but when I went out to set the target back last night it was gone.
Someone had driven in from the back side and taken it:mad:.

Sooo I went to the gun club to acquire some dope(whistling) and box test my Vortex HS-T 6x24.

First I got a new 100yd zero as I adjusted the scope back a bit to get a better position.
The three sighting shot are pretty obvious.

Shot 3 at zero went up to 30moa in 10 moa increments dialed down to zero and 3 moa right then 3 moa left and then 2 more at zero and then a 5 round group at 15 moa.
All in all I'm happy with the results.
Certainly close enough for me at this moment.

I caught myself canting the rifle on the 30 moa shots and was probably doing it on the 20 moa shots also, I need to start paying attention to that.
Both of the 5 round groups are in the .3's

I also got dope on 200 ,300, 400, 500 and 700 an my ballistic AE data was within 1/4 moa on all with a G7 of .285, 2730fps with a Hor 140 bthp in my 260.
Data also jives with steel at 1090.

Also put ten shots in just over MOA at 700 today.
I feel I'm starting to get a better NPA lately and without a doubt the shooting I did at 1090 REALLY helped me as 400, 500 and 700 are child's play now compared to 1000+.

It appears that the scope gains one extra moa in elevation on the way to ten moa, and then tracks true after that. Looks like your zero is good but all other groups were about one moa high. Did you see that result on steel as well?

    Yea I did.
    Is that a common pattern?
I'm going to try it again when I get a chance, it was 1/2 to 3/4 MOA.

Pretty consistently high so I'm not sure I'm to blame, it came back to zero well.
I'll get a better measurement on the targets right now and double check the intervals.
Even if it is off, 1/2 to 3/4 has not been hurting me much.

Well upon further examination using a short framing square is NOT the best tool to try and mark out 10.47.
    Zero to 10 MOA measured 10 1/8
    10 to 20 was 10 1/4
    20 to 30 was 10 3/8
I dropped my 4 shot americono gettin out of the truck at the range, that explains shoddy measuring job.

I taped the pages together(vertical line saved my bacon) and scaled up from zero using a ruler and the groups are pretty near perfect.

I'll still retest as the spread at the 10, 20 and 30 are abnormal for this gun and load.

As long as it is repeatable/consistent you are good to go. Just account for it and you will be good to go. This is why when people have trouble with the ballistic program they are using giving them poor solutions, the first thing I recommend is checking the scope as you did. Most often they are messing up an input somewhere, but sometimes it is the scope.
