I went to my club today and sighted in my new Nikon Prostaff Target EFR scope on the Anschutz 1913 Precise. It took less than 10 shots to get on target at 50 yards and I'm very pleased with the outcome. I was using a front rest, but because I still have the original 3 position butt-hook attached, the rear was shoulder supported. Here's what the rig looks like now:

Six groups of 5 shots each @ 50 yards (standard NRA 50 yard 4" bull):

10 clicks up and 5 rounds @ 100 yards (standard NRA 100 yard 8.25" bull):

Ammo was S/K Rifle Match. I'm very pleased with these results. I have to figure out a butt end solution and I'm planning on adding the benchrest fore-end extension next. Looking forward to shooting tighter groups and joining in on the fun here.

Nice Rifle! Would you be able to swing (detach and reset) the bottom hook 180 degrees on the stock buttplate lower pillar so you can use it a bag rail. I think with a rear bag you groups will improve dramatically. Looks like a fun start to the scoped shooting!

Thanks for the comment. I never thought about flipping the butt extension. I'll have to give that a try. Makes sense though. I'll have to get a pretty tall rear rest though as the bottom won't be very low.
