Ok, so this is the first time I have ever resized using a body die while paying special attention to the amount of bump that I give the shoulder.

I am using the Redding competition shellholder set for a 25-06. I measured the 'datum line' on an unfired piece of brass and also on a fired piece. I started with the tallest shellholder and ran it through the body die. The reulting datum line measurement is LONGER than before I resized. Why is this? What am I doing wrong?

Re: First time resizing with body die-need help

sounds as if the case is only getting sized near the case head along the wall which will make the brass stretch longer, while the body die is not bumping the shoulder. My body dies will do this. Need to get the case deeper into the body die until you bump the shoulder to your desired size.
