I've been using LC once fired brass to feed my AR-10 and out of a couple of orders of this once fired brass I've been able to cull out about 120 pcs. of once fired LC-LR brass. I've been SB sizing the regular LC brass followed by FL sizing after subsequent firings (seems to work OK in my gun). I'm saving the LC-LR for use in my bolt guns. My question: is it necessary or recommended to SB size the LC-LR for use in a bolt gun since this brass was not supposed to have been originally fired in a MG? My thought-- first time FL sizing is going to save some working of this brass and maybe extend it's life a little more.

Have you tried running it through the fl sizer and seeing if it chambers?

Fwiw, lc and lc lr both chamber fine for me just FL sizing with a standard Lee die.

Yea I just use a full length sizer as well for both my M1A and my bolt 700. People kept saying that I should get a small base die but I have seen no indication as to why that is necessary. The only thing that I recommend you do with the full length sizer is to run in 2 or 3 times in there. Sometimes after you size it once, it can have a tendency to expand just a little bit back to its fired size. Run it once or twice more and you're good to go!
