I think I understand the concept,,can anybody tell from these pics if I am going about this correctly,,

loading 175 SMK with Varget in Lapua brass,,rifle is 700 PSS glass bedded in HS stock with Jewell trigger and 4.5-14 LR M1 scope,,I am hoping to find a good load a step down off max,,just enough to make about 1100 supersonic,,gonna run 10 with 42 grs Varget over chronie tomorrow and see how it goes,

I would shoot 5 shot groups w/42, 42.1, 42.2 and compare sizes. Then change seating depths for 5 more groups of 5 with the best of the previous 3 charges. The ladder test was a small sampling of charges unless you ran into pressure issues.

no pressure issues at all,,I want a good shooting load I can count on in any weather and not ruin my brass,,I would like to be about 2.5-3 grs under any pressure indicators and shoot good groups,,according to JBM 2575-2600 will get me where I need to be,
so a low pressure load at 2600 fps and shoot an honest 1 MOA at range and I will be tickled to death,,
