some fixed power scope questions: 1) does anyone make a fixed 16,besides the v.expensive (to me) MK4? 2) 12x fixed-leupold and sightron both make them with the sightron being a bit more expensive. any experience with either? or sightrons of any type? 3) best guess for max usable range @ 12x for >60 y.o. eyes with tri focals and some astigmatism? i seem to need more magnification at even 100 than i did 10 yr ago. asking because my new tikka t3 varmit 223 looks to be a winner but realistically is never going to shoot anything but paper or maybe a coyote. think i can get sl superior otics with less interfering stuff for same $.

Re: fixed power scope questions

I second the above, as I'm sure many others will. I don't own a Super Sniper yet (saving my pennies for the 5-20x), but I've been out to SWFAas they're only about an hour away and their scopes are really nice.

Re: fixed power scope questions

thank you, thank you! looks to 1 in my future soonest. as soon as something of mine leaves. no AO on this one. now, tell me how much the lack of AO in any scope really matters. i am having a bit of trouble getting my head around the theory.

Yes, there is an AO on the 16x42 SS, it just at the rear of the scope where the power ring for a viable normally is...
