I had a 6.5x47 Lapua that didn't shoot worth a shit, so I sent it off and had it re-barreled. The first barrel I had 100 new brass, that I reloaded and fired again, so the brass is now twice fired for that chamber. Getting the new barrel I knew I would have to get a FL die to re-use that brass. I think I found out part of the reason as to why the first barrel shot poorly. The brass was rather enlarged and took a lot of force to resize from what was likely a chamber job done too deep. Now, even with the brass, after re-sizing, is still very hard to close the bolt on my new chamber. Could it be that the brass neck was case hardened in the longer length and isn't bumping back far enough? Should I just junk this brass and get a new batch? Or could my new chamber be too short?
