I've been wondering if there is a length and or a diameter limit on flash hiders?
Let's say you took the Noveske pictured, made it longer and wider. just long enough to get to 16.25 inches barrel and hider OAL, pinned it an made it "permanent." And just wide enough to fit a suppressor into it, one of the thin ones, like a surefire 762 mini, which is 6.2 inches long and 1.5 inches wide.
With the adapter, and a 10" barrel, it's be just a skosh over 16.5"
Since the barrel and flash hider determine the NFA status of a rifle, and together they would be over 16.25", the resulting rifle would not be a short barreled rifle, but would be suppressed at just over 16.5 inches.
What did I miss or get wrong?
Not proposing anything illegal, just asking questions.
