I'm in the market for a flashlight that puts out a green light.

I need a green flashlight with as many lumens as possible. I don't want a light that puts out white, red and green light. I want to keep it simple. If all it has is a on off button that's fine with me. I've heard a lot about how tuff surefire lights are, but after a phone call with a customer service representative I discovered they don't have a light that fits my needs.

The light will be used for the farm's late night investigations.

I don't have the time to do alot of research looking for a flashlight, in less then 2 months I'll be in the family way.

Do you guys have any suggestions ????

Re: Flash light Green Light

If you are familiar with the venerable Surefire 6P, then you know what a "P60" or "D26" size flashlight looks like. The bulbs for these lights, known as P60 "drop-ins" are very, very popular and come in just about every variety, including green.

The P60 drop-in I would suggest is made by Solarforce, and features a 225 lumen green LED.

I would then suggest that you get your choice of flashlight body and bezel assembly (sometimes called a "host") if you don't already own a Surefire 6P, or other brand 2xCR123 P60 style flashlight.

Consider buying a Solarforce host if you're in the market. It is very inexpensive, but durable enough for your intended use

Lastly, notice that the green LED I've recommended is capable of running on 3-18 volts. While the most popular P60 hosts run on 2xCR123 batteries (6 volts) this drop-in is capable of more. Adding more voltage will give you more run-time.

For example, if you don't mind a longer flashlight, consider the below Solarforce extension tube. One extension tube gives you 3xCR123, and two tubes gives you 4xCR123, etc, etc

This appears like sound advice. Thank you for the thorough explanation.

Looks like those green drop in's are popular as they are all sold out.

This looks like more of a lazor then a flashlight. I can see it's usefulness if a guy were hunting at night. I'm looking for something that will light up a wider area though.

Good question. I don't know. If you find a good answer, please enlighten us.

As for the Solarforce drop-in, you should be able to find it at a few places;

Re: Flash light Green Light

you could get a large maglite with a lens kit a 6 cell has the added benefit of being used as a baton. Do not use it as a club the batteries will explode upon repeated impact and weld the caps onto the light. Do not ask me how I know this.

Re: Flash light Green Light

Well, I found some time early monday morning to look over the internet at a few things.

I was determined to use glock24's advice but discovered something else while looking on Youtube...............The Sniperhawg light. I bought the Destroyer package with the green led, single mode tail cap, batteries, and charger. Paid $115.99. This light has an aluminum body. The owner emailed me back with answers to my questions quickly. This was my first purchase online using a card and computer. It was easy. No phone calls, No envelopes, no money orders, no stamps, no ink............. Light should be here soon.
