2 questions regarding Flash suppressors.
I am in the process of building up 2 rifles from left over parts, using Mauser actions, for use in so called "survival situations". One in 30-06 and one in 308 Win. Rifles will have 24" barrels, parked finishes, bedded in laminated stocks, with turned down bolt handles, D&T'd for scopes.
I am considering adding a Flash Supressor to each one, and have a question re FS designs.
Do the shorter stubby FSs(HK91 style) work as well as the longer ones (M14 style)? The HK91 style FSs are much cheaper and easier to mount, so I would prefer to go that route if possible.
Also, future plans involve building a heavy 26" barreled 300 Win Mag. What would be a good FS for a 300 Win Mag?
