Night Vision Flir Extra Long IR Illuminator

Does anyone have experience with the Flir MSI 8000?

I see some big sales on them but can’t find any reviews or info on how it actually performs.

I started a recent thread on budget IR illuminators, and ended up ordering one of these. Hopefully tonight I can check it out and give some feedback.

It should be pretty strong if it the usual T20 body LED IR Aspheric lens . They have a square diode array and get out there long way when you narrow the beam focus . Some also have a low/high power selection in the tail-cap button .

High power, You need to be careful and not let it hit and bloom off foliage that is close near you . It is not good to get that much strong white-out reflection and hitting your NOD .

Yeah, even being careful with it tonight, it's easy to get the tube going hard. I was lighting up the side of a building from 300+ yards with plenty of ambient light, though, so right now I'd say that it's a winner for the sub-$70 price on OP right now.

Here you go.

Mine came in a plain box with no manual, the light and other parts were in bags and bubble wrap inside the plain box.
