I have an opportunity to get a Flir monocular at a pretty good discount for a coyote and hog hunting setup. Looking at either the Scion or the scout III. I don't need anything really fancy, just a decent ability to identify targets past about 500 yards. I used an old Flir scout my last trip down to Texas and while it detected heat signatures a long ways off, I made quite a few stalks on animals other than hogs. I also might splurge a little and explore the Command bi ocular set up. Anyone have any experience with these?

I have a Flir Scout TK. I have used many differant Thermals and I cam tell you it is good. It is not the best pht there but it is a good optic.

Only thing that i do not like is that it is rechargeable only. I would prefer to put new batteries in it. It is inconvenient if you are out using it and it runs low on power. The battery life is also not the best.

Other than that it is great.
