I am flying out of state for a hunt and am hitting weight limits in my checked bags. I am bringing two bipods. Will the ATF confiscate them. I could find no documentation, but could see them easily construed as a firearm part.

It depends. Does it have automatically deployable legs? If so, it's considered an assault bipod in 13 states and requires an additional permit, not including Alabama where you have to have a letter from someone who knows your mother and swears that you'll be really good and not harm anyone with your bipod.
