I've had 2 FN SPR's, my current one is my main bolt gun. The barrels are indestructible, and passed rigorous FBI testing of more than 10K rounds. I love it, Jeff at CDI bedded my stock and installed a trigger and his bottom metal and William Roscoe threaded my BBL.
It eats the HELL out of some 178 A-max's and 155grn Scenars due to the 5R 12" twist!

That's OK I have to use a scope, too! I'm looking at the Bolt[great price, and feed back from owners] and the auto. Can you own too many guns?

My next door neighbor and shooting buddy has one - it is a VERY sweet shooter - although esthetically I think it's kind of been hit with an ugly stick.
All things considered though, I own an SPR and he likes shooting it more than I do - as in I almost have to arm lock him to get him from behind my rifle. He's 20 years older than me so that is the only thing that prevents me from doing so. Go shoot one (if you can find someone or establishment that will let you) Find out if it's what you want
