Guys this topic may have been beat to death so sorry. I just picked up a smoking deal, I think, on a pbr xp 24 fluted in a nice a5 mcswirley with the adjustable cheek. I have experience with the psr ringing them for testing at work and liked them, it was along time ago though, and just had the second of my rem 700 bolt handles break, one was a work gun and this was my gun. Besides I like the 3 position safety.

So great deal but I hate detachable mags on bolt guns. So my questions.

1. Are the factory mags worth a dang, the capacity does not bother me?

2. Does anyone make one piece traditional bottom metal that will fit the current inlet with the squarish front end vs standard oval on winchesters??

3. If the factory mags and no on makes #2. Is cdi the best/ only choice?

Thanks and be safe all.

Re: FN PBR XP DM bottom metal question

I have the fn spr with the factory 4 rd magazines, and unlike some of the others on this site,I have yet to have any problems with mine in the 5 years that I have owned the rifle.
Dont know about the standard floorplate,so someone else will have to help you with that.
Ypou can get all the magazines you want from Midway USA..
