Can I drop a FN A1/2 that comes with the factory bottom metal that uses the 4 round detachable magazines straight into a Mcrees chassis and use AICS 5 and 10 round magazines without modification? Thanks in advance!

I understand Scott is making stocks specific to the FN/Win 70 action..

That's why I said you have to call and order the specific center section.... the chassis he has most readily available is for a Remington and clones. They now come with his mags. They are similar to an AICS.

Re: FN SPR and Mcrees chassis

Flynn, you will still need to remove some minimal metal from your FN action to run AICS or similar mags. Search for the past threads on FN and CDI bottom metal mods to see all the photos and reasons about why. You could wait for the New FN bottom metal and 5/10 round FN mags if you don't wanna remove any metal from your action, but then you'll miss all that great mcrees adjustability...
When i got the itch, I called Mcrees just to ask about FNs and expected a long wait, but they had everything in stock, painted it that same day, and shipped into my hands in just a few days--a great experience, just call em.
Also, look for the thread that shows you how to seat your rounds high in AICS mags for the Claw to feed rounds smoothly--you'll want to see the whole primer and some brass below it.

Re: FN SPR and Mcrees chassis

A little metal needs to be removed from the FN receiver to use the AI mags, once done they work great. I have done mine and several friends and they all work way better than the factory 4 rds mag.
well worth it.

Do you mind posting a picture of the reciver/action after the metal is removed so I can get an idea of what is involved exactly?
