My father has a M1 and has been wanting a folder for it. I was thinking X-mas. Which stock is the desirable one, I know very little about these rifles so all info would be welcomed. Thanks.

Re: Folder for M1 Carbine

The original M1A1 paratrooper stocks are desirable, but cost a pretty penny if you can find one. There are reproduction units available, but they are hit and miss in terms of quality, fit and finish. I have seen some that fit like a glove and others that required substantial work to get the rifle properly fitted to the stock. Choate makes a synthetic folder for the M1 Carbine, but I for one can't stand the way it looks (FUGLY to put it mildly).

Check with Fulton Armory to see examples of the various options for folding stocks for the M1 Carbine. They sell them for a pretty fair price (in terms of what others will have them for).
