Friend has a fixed trunion ak and would like to get a good folder for it. Not something like the crappy magpul one hopefully something more authentic. Any input on something that would work or if it can be modified to use another style would be greatly appreciated. He was asking me and I’m just not super knowledgeable on this.

Can be done. I used Lee Armory in Phoenix. I don’t have the tools for this work so I sent it out.

If you have a fixed stock tang the receiver will need to be reworked for the krink/AK-103 style folders, I think parts are a little sparse right now, but I've seen sets for a few hundred in the before times. Authentic is a wide mark to hit if you include anything from the Khyber Pass!

What you’re looking for is the zentico pt-5. The pt-5 is a folder made for fixed trunnion akm. The alternative would be to install the jmac modular rear trunnion and use one of their folding sig mpx style stocks with the 1913 pic rail rear portion of the modular trunnion. That’s quite a bit of work to install a whole new rear trunnion though.

I have one of these. It has a better cheek weld than the other AKM folding stocks and it fits the standard AK trear trunnion with the protruding tang. The only problem is that the availability is hit and miss. It will cost more, but is well worth it.
