I've saw several post of people night hunting with clip on NVDs. How are you getting your ranges at night? I know some of you are using IR lasers, so this question wouldn't apply to you. I'm asking specifically about getting ranges to make adjustment on your scope.

A lot of us don't. Ranging at night with a thermal and without a LRF is pretty tricky, especially when on unfamiliar land. I've been off quite a bit a few times (guessing 100 yards when the hogs were 150 away and vice versa).

What helped me most was practicing on estimating and shooting armadillos. I also have my 6.8 zeroed for 75 yards...so I'm close enough from 50 - 150 yards that it shouldn't make a difference. But practice on familiar terrain is best.
