Fore arm padded bottom cover?

Re: Fore arm padded bottom cover?

Anybody actually use one in have any thoughts? or are they just to keep ur pretty stock from scratching?

I imagine they would add a little more support when resting on a hard surface during positional shooting.

Also, how do they attach? Fear and common sense?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Re: Fore arm padded bottom cover?

I have been using the SO Tech for a few years and find it useful when shooting positional and also off barricades as hard on hard surfaces tend to bounce more. Before using it I just tapped some neoprene on the bottom of the stock. Still have a couple rifles set up that way.

The SO Tech skid plate attaches with two strips of velcro down the sides of the stock near the barrel channel but I put another down on the bottom to make sure it doesn't slip. I don't have any pics of the contact spots and the rifle is at GAP now so I can't take any but here's a pic of the skid plate installed.

Re: Fore arm padded bottom cover?

I, like Rob have been using the SO Tech Skid Plate for year. For anyone how shoots competitions or just off barriers this is a no brainer must have.

The Skid is great for adding grip on the barrier and reducing the effects of recoil effects in these unstable conditions.

Removal and installation is stupid simple. Velcro holds the pad in place solid.

Great piece of kit.
