Suppressors Form 1 Big Bore kits

Op is is referring to the kits to build your own suppressor ( with federal stamp of course)

I don’t know of any kits either, and I assume that is because with the increased pressure and demand for accuracy, it may not be practical for the average do-it-yourself type.

That appears to be the case. I’ve reached out to a shop to have a quote for baffles. This may get pricey.

There had been a group buy going on, over on the form 1 board, for cones made for a 2" tube. Thats your .50 answer. I'd bet it could be done with 1.75 tube, if you had the cups for it, and made it long enough

As far as kits.....very slim if any.....if I find anything like you are looking for I will post them here.

Now......some old school Form1 big boy stuff when there was no "easy button" for form1 cans and HARDLY ANYONE had anything larger than .338LM....much less a legit M200 at that point in time.

Good ole Jimmym40a2 from here

Make sure you keep in mind some of this was ELEVEN YEARS AGO😳😎

It’s looking like this will be very custom. I drew some stepped cone baffles on CAD and am farming them out for quotes. Planning on a 0.120” thick wall 2.25” tube, 15” long. The baffles are 0.100” stainless. The first baffle will likely be a straight 0.250” thick “washer” with about 8” of the can being a “blast chamber”.

I have every intention of hiding behind my pickup and pulling the trigger via a 25’ string for the first few rounds. 😁

I know I can't wait to try to blow up my multi thousand dollar investment with a homemade POS, WTF? Why in the world would you ever want to put your head on the other end of a big bore caliber and launch projectiles through some unproven metallic tube using whatever hardware you can find at Walmart? Even if you have no concern for the $$$ or your equipment I have to assume you like your vision and your face arranged the way it currently is..... By all means make sure to video document for posterity.

I second this.

Call Elite Iron and do it right or go be poor somewhere else. If you can afford to shoot BMG, you can afford to suppress it right. Elite is not only an excellent choice, they're also one of the least expensive choices.

Stay the fuck away from AAC. And AWC if they're even still around. Barrett makes one that'll handle semi auto fire. Elite will custom fit a can for a bolt gun TDC and they're bomb proof with predictable and reliable vertical POI change, if any. But if you're DIY'ing cans for BMG's I'm guessing precision is at the bottom of your list... Along with safety.

Breathe fellas. It will be OK. I'm milling the parts out of 316 on a five-axis and will align-bore everything to minimize runout. Oh yeah, I'll TIG everything together too. I've transferred my open mouth breathing Crayola drawings to SolidWorks and should be cutting parts in a week.

Does that make you happy? Probably not....

Don't get me wrong, Form 1 kits are great for 22LR and loading up to 50 grains of powder. It starts to make me nervous thinking about striking the primer on 220 grains of powder in a 50 bmg knowing that an equivalent barrel length to smaller cartridges means about 40" or more of barrel - which I have yet to see in a man portable rifle. If you have the expertise and desire, more power to you. Again document your result and share. Good luck!
