Forming .260 brass

What do you guys form .260 brass from? And if using a bushing die which bushing do you use?

Unfortunately that article doesn't address the bushing size question. Can someone who has formed their own brass tell me what brass you used as a parent case and the outside neck diameter with a bullet seated?

I use Win 7-08 brass and Redding type S FL die with .290 bushing

you still have some variables to consider.

What parent case? .308 will need some reaming or turning or you'll have to fat a neck for a safe bullet release upon firing. Are you going to thin it before or after said sizing operation?

Personally I'd use WW 7mm-08 and size and go but I've yet to go that route so I cannnot give you a bushing number. I see that's what a lot of guys used with less fuss than my experiment converting some lapua .308's.

Thanks cobra that's all I needed to know. Now I'll buy some Win 7-08 brass to hold me over till the lapua stuff comes out.

Your gonna need the expander on the first pass, after that you don't need it

i use a .288 with rem brass

and a .293 with lapua brass

depends on yuor throat dimensions

in my barrel this gives me about .002 neck tension and clearance
without the need to turn the neck on lapua brass

both shoot the same.... great

I use Winchester 7mm-08 brass and a Redding factory 260 Remington neck die.
