The instructions for the Forster Full Length Sizing Die says you're suppose to lube the shoulder and the neck ? Really ? Not just mica or lube down the inside of the neck and on the case just up to the bottom of the shoulder ? News to me. Thought I'd throw that out there since there must be something about the Die that requires this. Input appreciated. Vague, incorrect, lacking info seems to be abundant regarding Die set up and use. No wonder we're all confused :)

The instructions included with Forster dies is more than adequate. When compared to what Redding provides, Forster is way more detailed. As for the lube, all I use is One Shot and I've never stuck a case.

I don't understand what you think is wrong with their instructions. Reading your post it seems that you don't think you need to lube the outside of the neck or the shoulder itself, if so then that would be incorrect. All regular full length dies except carbide pistol dies need the complete outside of the case lubed, not just forster. Neck sizing dies that use titanium nitride bushings don't have to be lubed either, but with any normal full length sizing die you need to lube the complete outside of the case.

Pleasant response's, thank you. I've never used the spray lube so that settles that part. I've used a roll pad only. I've never had a stuck case or galled an inner Die or end up with galled/scratched brass, just the way it is. My point is, since moving back to the US and getting back into reloading I've seen numerous instructions regarding case prep by either individuals or manufacturers and are contradictory. For your viewing pleasure here's a little snippet from RCBS, which is the only Die Manufacturer I've used to this point. So when I saw the instruction for the Forester Die I was somewhat taken back and thinking maybe their Die is built where the process of placing lube on the neck and shoulder was required for their specific Die, get it? Complaint ? Not really, more of an observation. The Holiday cheer ends early this year apparently.

I would also say that just the setting up of the FL Die instructions from maker to maker is somewhat contradictory yes? That causes "some" confusion, hence all the how do I do this posts. IE: Run your ram to top of stroke, turn in your FL die till it bounces off your shellholder, drop the ram and jam the fucker in the hole another half turn or so and you're good to go. Right. And YOU do this?
