Fort Hood at it again

I cite:

"...Now, she is said to be accounted for and with extended family. Leadership with her chain of command spoke to Sewell’s family around 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10 and confirmed her safety.

Authorities are now working to ensure Sewell has access to resources to make sure she can make a safe return to Fort Hood...
"

In the good old days, those "resources" were called MP. Now, it's a clown show in every corner of .gov and .mil.
The good old days we sent guys to the Provost Marshals office to get the restraint training and then sent them off to collect the soldier.

@stefan73 , straight question so please a straight answer.

Why do a secretary and a medic get paid the same in the army with all the same TIS and TIG if it weren't socialism......

Is that clear enough for you. I never shed a tear over it. I was just asking a question.

Doc
That is an interesting question.

If a walmart cashier makes the same as a walmart stocker, is that socialism? Two different jobs within the same entity.

I don't see the Army advocating that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

You could almost go either way with that one.

They already do. I got paid more then Legs...... I also got more money for the high risk activities that I did. There is Pro Pay, Special duty pay and a whole bunch of other pays.

Here is a better example:

O4 Armor officer with 8 years in makes MUCH less then a O4 Neurosurgeon with 8 year in. Same rank, same time in...... But jobs are much different and the pay reflects that.

Same would go for a E7 68W with 12 years in the 1CAV vs a E7 68W with 12 years in that is in JSOC.

Do a lot more work and you get paid a lot more...... Well REAL Work.

Of course this does not take into account all of the time that the CAV Medic spends doing police call or cutting the grass. How can you put a price on that? :ROFLMAO:

E4 linguists received more money than some other E4's because of their language capabilities (special pays).

So I think it goes to counter the thought process that the military is a socialist. But, someone would have to ask, is the means of production owned and regulated by the community as a whole? I argue No (see Northrup Grumman, United Defense, General Dynamics, GE, etc etc etc etc if there are any questions there).

But, if we wanted to keep it myopic in our view we could focus on a 68W E4 and a 71L E4 with the same date of rank and both in mech units, no language skills, no special pays or skills, no other education. But in that myopic view we still disregard promotions and promotion rates which vary depending on needs, evaluations and performance.

This is could be an interesting conversation after a few beers..

Not at all, socialism is the word of the day in the military. Sure they have bonus money for critical career fields and they have pro-pay for special skills and hard to replace troops but by and large, every dirtbag E7 in the Army/military makes the same as every hard working E7 in the Army/military.

A complete pile of shit admin troop who works three hours a day, screws subordinates, fails PT will get paid the same as a guy working 10-12 hours a day, with 12 additional duties and three volunteer side gigs in every branch of the military.

In every branch of the military, if a service member is raped or sexually harassed their chain of command will work diligently to cover it up, long before they decide to investigate it. If the rapist/deviant is a senior NCO or officer and the victim is a junior enlisted, they will do anything but investigate and in some cases they will charge the junior person and excuse the officer. I know this for a 100% certainty because I have seen it happen.

The primary function of most senior leadership is to protect itself from being held accountable for its failures. The Catholic church must have taught their tricks to military officers. Only when the shit hits the fan and it gets public attention will any military leader do the right thing.

QMP helps to manage your "dirtbag" E7's and E6's and I have seen my fair amount of O's get promoted to the civilian world.
