Wondering if any of you guys have had any experience with the Fortis Switch rail specifically the 17" that is a relabeled for Rainier Arms. I'm stuck between this and an SLR. The drawback with the SLR is they use an aluminum (7075) barrel nut and Fortis uses a 4140 steel. Not sure if that would even matter honestly.

I have a 14 inch on a budget aero 308 build I did a year or so ago. The best part was being able to slide the rail on and off when I was tuning the adjustable gas block.

Other than that it's just another rail.

I have always been interested in this rail. How rigid is its mounting on the barrel nut on those longer rails? How does it handle loading bipods and such?

I've built several up with the Fortis Switch, both small block and big block. I'm a fan!
